“Dico Machtotz EN” is an English - western Armenian (and vice versa) dictionary.
Once installed, the dictionary can be accessed without an Internet connection.
It is the only dictionary of its kind at the AppStore.
The keyboard allows QWERTY and AZERTY layouts. One is able to enter Armenian words phonetically, using Latin letters.
The sources for these dictionaries came from:
Mestob G. Kuyoumdjian, Cairo, 1961 ;
Mardiros Kuchakchian, Beirut, 1970 ;
Markar S. Assadourian, Librairie du Liban, 1999 and 2000.
The words, and their translations, have been completely reviewed and corrected in the United States by Yervant Kotchounian and Harry Tchetchenian,…and the transliteration was completed by Taniel Torun.
We thank the donors for this project icluding: Toros Mekhsian of Nivelles, Belgium, Édgard Hamalian of Brussels, Belgium, the Muscari Association of Lyon, France, Megerditch Bouldoukian of Beirut, Lebanon, Pilibossian family, from France and specially Calouste Gulbenkian foundation from Portugal, for financing the new dictionary.
