Time to put on your hard hats for an auditory visit to the construction site!
Everyone has heard the loud racket of a busy construction site. A passerby on the street may hear nothing but an annoying cacophony of noise, but if you listen carefully the construction noise is actually a compilation of many unique and interesting sounds! The short staccato sound of a hammer driving a nail into wood. The whirr of a drill or the unique click of a wrench ratcheting hardware into place. The rhythmic buzz of a hand saw or the roar of a chainsaw. And perhaps the loudest tool on the jobsite: the jackhammer, noisily breaking apart the very ground under our feet.
Much like an amateur rock band, the construction site may require earplugs for its high volume racket, but each tool, like each instrument, has its own interesting rhythm and sound. Kids will love listening to these real-life construction sounds, adding an extra element of fun to games of make believe while at the same time learning about real tools!
