Welcome to the official mobile application of the Coalition of Clean Air Advocates of the Philippines.
Climate change can have a disastrous effect on our planet, and unless something is done about it—fast—life on Earth as we know it will be gone.
Eighty percent (80%) of air pollution in Metro Manila comes from unabated motor vehicle emissions (mobile source) and twenty percent (20%) comes from industry and natural sources.
They all produce greenhouse gases. All cause deadly human diseases (respiratory and cardiovascular) and the worldwide emission of these greenhouse gases has been implicated as a major contributor to global warming which can lead to climate change.
The Philippines is listed among the top five (5) most vulnerable countries in the planet to the devastating effects of climate change.
Scientific evidence shows that the climate change is man-made (anthropogenic). Therefore, man can do proactive activities to mitigate the global phenomenon of climate change.
CCAAP and its partners will launch its CLEAN AIR WARRIOR PROGRAM and attempt to gather a million volunteers nationwide who will champion the worthy cause of CLEAN AIR in the Philippines.
These environmental warriors will act as volunteer watchdog (bantay usok) to report violations in the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 in order to protect the quality of air that we all breathe. They will also assist in climate change mitigation activities countrywide.
CCAAP CLEAN AIR WARRIORS will be given the proper information, education and trainings on CLEAN AIR and CLIMATE CHANGE so they can echo these to the rest of the Filipino nation. In so doing they can win the hearts and minds of our people to mobilize them to stand up for their right to breathe clean air. They will also be tasked to initiate activities that can help limit global warming to only 1.5 degrees in order to avert permanent and calamitous events from happening to our Mother EARTH.
The CLEAN AIR WARRIOR PROGRAM is open to all.
