Note: This is not the complete ANSI 117.1 document- we interpreted the most oft used items to include in this version. Quick:ADA is arranged a little differently than the old stodgy code…. We made it simple to use- there are 6 chapters, with the pertinent info you need in each chapter. For example, the “halls” chapter has the turn around spaces needed plus height ranges for phones, fire alarms, etc, as well as the height & location for room identification signage. In the original ANSI document- this info was spread out like a beurocrart wrote it (!) over 3 or 4 sections.
The Quick:ADA App is perfect for fast studies on home inspections, school ramps, grab bar heights…and much more- but remember, because this is only an interpretation of the ADA requirements, you will need to refer to a professional for all other codes that may apply to your circumstance.
Also, Quick:ADA app gives you the reference for each instance- and also allows you to email the selected illustration to clients or to the office.
Another Note: The actual codes have much more requirements on stairs, treads, handrails, children’s facility regs., elevator cabs, floor openings, kitchen clearances, assembly space info., bus loading areas, stroke widths for signage, guardrail requirements. So, keep in mind that this app will help you BEGIN the process of determining the “compliance” of your situation.
